Trixie Mattel and the ‘Drag Race’ queens defeat George Santos

Republican Rep. George Santos cast some shade over the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner days after the New York congressman denied he had ever been a drag queen in Brazil.

in a cheep Posted Monday afternoon, Santos dismissed recent efforts by late-night television to mock him and the numerous inaccuracies surrounding his personal and professional accomplishments.

On the Jan. 20 episode of “The Tonight Show,” comedian Jon Lovitz impersonated Santos, who has downplayed his lies as “dressing.” Over the weekend, “Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang played the politician and his alleged drag alter ego, Kitara Ravache.

Santos was not a fan.

“I’ve been enshrined in late-night TV history with all these imitations but so far they’re all TERRIBLE,” he tweeted. “Jon Lovitz is supposed to be one of the greatest comedians of all time and that was embarrassing – for him, not me! These comedians need to step up their game.”

But Santos found his match in some of drag’s superstars. Trixie Mattel, “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season 3 winner and musician, didn’t love Santos’s criticism and let the embattled politician know as much.

“Maybe the source material was weak”, the star of “Trixie Motel” responded to Santos’s tweet.

Santos continued the Twitter feud, recalling one of Trixie’s less-than-stellar moments on “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.”

In 2018, Trixie played RuPaul for “The Snatch Game,” the show’s impersonation and improv challenge. Her performance, opposite Drag Mother herself, flopped and she placed her in the background for that episode.

“You clearly know all about weak acting skills @trixiemattel,” Saints applaudedattaching a GIF of Mattel at that infamous moment.

The back and forth continued. Mattel responded by using Santos’ explanation for the recently resurfaced image of him in a wig, lipstick, jewelry, and a dress. According to CNN, Santos told reporters that he never transvestite and that he was just “young and having fun at a festival.”

“I am not an actor! I was young and I had fun at a festival,” said the “UNHhhh” co-host, echoing Santos’ phrase.

Santos responded with even more somber: “Everything is fine! I also won my race against the fan favorite,” a reference to Mattel’s “All Stars 3” win over finalists Shangela and Kennedy Davenport.

Mattel and Santos’ Twitter spat came after several other “Drag Race” performers shared their views on the Republican representative’s alleged drag life.

Jan Sport, who competed in Season 12 of the series, recreated Santos’ drag look in full on Twitter, from the crystal necklace to the random smokey eye. “Kitara, I’d like to talk,” Sport captioned a side-by-side photo comparison.

When Santos first denied the drag queen claims on january 19 “This will not distract or unnerve me,” he promised. “Season 14 Kornbread “The Snack” contestant Jeté joked that she was close to Santos’ transvestite persona.

“Nah, you’re a lie, sister! We did tip points together when we started! Because you remember when you played Christina that time for the closing luncheon number and you got mad at me because you originally wanted to play Lil Kim but I said she was a better fit for Lady Marmalade? She answered.

“Drag Race: All Stars” Season 4 co-winner Trinity the Tuck also chimed in, tweeting that Santos is an “arrested drag queen and an arrested politician.”

Drag performers aren’t the only ones criticizing Santos. On Monday, Lovitz celebrated the criticism of the New York politician.

“Finally!!! You’re honest about something!” Lovitz tweeted.

Lovitz continued on another tweet: “Thanks [for] review and advice! You are well! I need to step up my game! My pathological liar persona can’t compare to you!”
